About Us
Originally started by Ray Gilbet about 45 years ago, RLC Engine Reconditioning was originally a repair business for bulldozers and earthmoving machinery, before shifting its focus more specifically to engine reconditioning, opening its doors to passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, as well as buses, other machinery and marine craft.
Current owner Chris started working for Ray in 1982, and Ray’s son-in-law Doug, an avid and successful drag racer, joined in 2008. Taking over from Ray when he retired in 1997, Chris now heads up a team of six dedicated engine experts, able to offer customers reconditioning, rebuilds and fitting of new and used parts.
The inner workings of your vehicle’s engine is often beyond the understanding of most drivers. That’s why we take great care to thoroughly explain the nature of any repair we undertake, ensuring our customers have a solid understanding of what they’re paying for. We’ll return your car to you in prime condition, with the sort of friendly service we know brings our customers back again and again.
